Technology and Advantages

Gram Technology has patents on numerous technologies to design and produce muliti component parts. We are on a current basis developing new methods and are well known for our creative and flexible solutions.

The Gram technique is an attractive alternative from the point of view of productivity, especially for the production of moulded parts where the preforms are transferred to the finish injection station by rotating the complete ejector-side half of the mould. The mould used for this technique is similar to a stack mould, having two parallel parting lines one behind the other at which the cavities for preforms and finish mouldings are arranged. The transfer of the preforms is effected by rotating the middle plate about its vertical centreline.

For a given machine size, this transfer technique on account of double the number of cavities also provides double the output. Alternatively, the new mould concept makes it possible to achieve the same production output with a much smaller injection moulding machine. Since the middle plate of the mould is very much lighter than indexing plates or rotary tables and, consequently, there is less mass to be moved, the cycle time is also reduced.
